Lesson on
the word "DON'T"
Our behaviors and outcomes are determined by the representations
we create and imagine in our minds. When we precede a statement
with the word don't, for example:
Try this experiment:
Relax, read the phrase below in blue, and Relax.
D O N ' T think
of a blue elephant, ...
Our unconscious mind
negates the negative not in don't ( don't = do not )and
creates an image of what we were not supposed to think of.
Even though we told ourselves do not think of a blue
elephant our image from our subconscious came through with a
blue elephant.
Be honest, How big is your blue elephant?
Why
did you think of a blue elephant? 
Answer: You were focusing on the negative that you did NOT want
to happen. Because you were focusing on "not
thinking" you were actually creating an image with your
mind of the very thing you did not want to think of.
See, You had to think of it in order to block it, but to block
it you had to think of it. Like a circle or loop. You can not do
both. Either you think of it or you don't.
This is also true with creating our desired outcomes in life.
Often times we will have thoughts or make statements regarding
what we don't ( don't = do not ) want to happen, and our
creative unconscious mind will create the imagery of what we
wanted to avoid, making it more likely to occur.
All statements or affirmations should be made in the positive so
our unconscious mind will direct us to accomplish our goals and
dreams.
Instead of saying, I Don't want to think about .... or I Don't
want to do this or that... simply think of what it is you really
want to think about or you really want to do. Do not focus on
the negative that you do not want to happen but focus on the
positive that you want to happen.
