Is Dr. H's Hypnosis show appropriate for my conservative group?
Dr. H
knows how to
keep the room captivated -- without crossing that "blue
material" line. Therefore whether performing at a
comedy club, high school, university, or your corporate banquet,
everything is 100% squeaky clean. There is nothing nasty,
vulgar, sexual, sexist, racist in the act.
From beginning to end, your audience will keep laughing from
good clean fun. You can be sure that there won't be any
uncomfortable moments for anyone.
How
does Dr. H choose his volunteers?
Dr. H begins his
show with a quick introduction of what hypnosis is... and what
it is not. He then explains to the audience the criteria
to be a volunteer and what one should expect should they decide
to join him on stage. Dr. H then makes a call for
volunteers and randomly brings up between 30-40 volunteers on
stage. Dr. H prefers to pick his own volunteers. Your
student leadership or association board might not be ideal
hypnosis subjects. Besides, bringing up volunteers 'on the
spot' allows the audience to see that nothing is 'set up' or
prearranged with volunteers and furthermore prevents volunteers
from certain 'clicks' from being the only people to take part in
the show.
Is Dr. H 's hypnosis show safe?
YES.
Hypnosis itself is 100% safe. There is no danger of going
into hypnosis and never coming out - hypnosis just doesn't work
that way. There are no side effects caused by someone
going into hypnosis. Furthermore, Dr. H is an experienced
hypnotist who always keeps in mind the safety of his subjects.
* At the
beginning of the show, Dr. H announces that as part of his
volunteer criteria, he will accept nobody as a subject who has a
broken arm... broken leg... sprained ankle... or any injury
whatsoever. Neither will he accept anyone who is pregnant,
under a doctors care, or on any medication -- legal or illegal.
Does Dr. H explain what hypnosis is to the audience?
Absolutely.
Everyone is fascinated with hypnosis. They don't just want
to watch it - they want to understand "Why" and
"How" hypnosis works. During the performance Dr.
H educates (without lecturing) his audience as he dispels the
myths and misconceptions that many people have about hypnosis.
How
long does the hypnosis show last? Is there a minimum or
maximum time limit?
Dr. H
is able to
provide a hypnosis program of virtually any length of time
you desire. Although he understands that sometimes his
clients are working with time constraints beyond their control, Dr. H
does recommend that he be provided with a minimum of 50
minutes to execute his act. The ideal time span for a
hypnosis show is between 50 and 90 minutes.
When
working high schools, can Dr. H do multiple shows for schools
that need split assemblies?
Yes. Dr. H books his show with the intention that when he leaves the client
says "WOW! We got our monies worth!" Therefore
if your school needs multiple assemblies to accommodate your
growing student population, Dr. H is happy to comply. Dr. H
can usually present up to a maximum of four hypnosis assemblies
per day.
Can
the hypnosis show be presented with a message to my high school
assembly?
Yes. The
presentation of hypnosis and the unlimited power of the human
mind lends itself to a perfect opportunity to share a message
encouraging students to care for their most prized possession -
their mind. Dr. H has presented his hypnosis show with
themes relating to Drug & Alcohol Prevention, Student
Community & Leadership, and motivational messages
encouraging students to make use of their mind and create an
amazing future! Call Dr. H with your message requests at
806-792-4164.
Does Dr. H need students to present permission slips to be volunteers?
No.
Absolutely not. In fact, Dr. H discourages the use of
permission slips or pre-show sign ups to become a volunteer.
First, it destroys the credibility of the hypnosis show - if
volunteers are not brought randomly from the audience, the show
looses a lot of its excitement. Second, and almost more
importantly, when volunteers are pre-selected or allowed to
participate only with signed permission slips - nine times out
of
ten we end up with a show with less than a dozen available
volunteers. Unfortunately, that's just not enough.
Our
school does not have a stage... will the gym floor do?
Yes. One
thing about a hypnosis show is that it is entirely flexible. As
long as we have lots of room, a good sound system, and lots of
volunteers - there should be no problem. A High School gym
makes for a great stage!
I
can't decide which show to have for my event. Can you mix
the two (HYPNOSIS and the Magic Show together?
You bet!
For those groups that want a little of both, Dr. H can begin his
show with a bit of magic and illusion, then smoothly slide into
his hypnosis presentation. The two shows complement each
other so well that this is Dr. H's recommended show format for
formal banquets.

MORE
HYPNOSIS FACTS :
You retain the
control and are aware of your surroundings at all times.
A person cannot
be hypnotized against their will. If you resist, it will not
work.
Anyone with
average or above average intelligence can be hypnotized.
Hypnosis is not
sleep, but very much like daydreaming.
You remember
everything.
A few minutes of
hypnosis is equal to several
HOURS of sleep. It feels great!
Hypnosis
requires your consent.
You will not
reveal intimate secrets while hypnotized.
A person cannot
become "stuck" in hypnosis. Since you retain the
control, this has never happened.
There is a
relationship between intelligence and hypnotizability.
Anyone of average intelligence, or better, will have good
results.
The American
Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association
have approved the use of hypnotherapy.
If you have ever
driven down the highway, begun to daydream & while your
conscious mind is elsewhere, you drive right past your
exit......
Final
Thought:
Until there is an
image in the mind, there can be no reality. All great inventions
began with a thought in the mind. The inventor was able to
visualize the invention before he could bring it to reality. The
same is true of great music, great writing, great living. If you
want to change your life, your lifestyle, your habits, you must
change the image that your mind holds. When working with a
person for weight control, I have the person imagine or
visualize themselves the size they want to be as if they were
that size and to imagine stepping on the scale and weighing
their desired weight. I request that they do this each night
just before going to sleep and each morning just after they wake
up from sleep.
I should point
out that imagery and day-dreaming are different from one
another. Imagery motivates one to accomplish that which is
visualized. The day dreamer is satisfied with the dream and is
not motivated to accomplish the goal. Imagery is not wishful
thinking but hopeful expectation of what is desired with the
motivation to believe it to reality.
Jonathan Edwards
said, "The ideas and images in men's minds are the
invisible power that constantly governs them." The wise old
man of Proverbs once wrote, "Whatever a person thinketh his
heart so is he." (Proverbs 23:7) Einstein said,
"Imagination is more important than knowledge." and
"Imagination is your preview of coming events." One of
the characteristics of the subconscious mind is that which is
expected, good or bad, tends to be realized. The most effective
imaging is that which communicates with the subconscious
"in the heart". The mental picture you hold of
yourself is what directs and controls you. You can use your
imagination to improve you or destroy you.
The subconscious
mind seeks to meet your deepest needs, expectations, wishes, and
desires but does not always do it the way you want it done. A
very important point to remember is that the subconscious can
not tell the difference between a wish and a fear. The
subconscious interprets a fear as a wish. Fear (negative
expectation) is our greatest enemy. Faith (positive expectation)
is our greatest ally.
The more one uses
positive images in his mind, the easier it becomes for these
images to become a reality. When images of health, success, and
life styles changes are accepted by the subconscious mind, there
is a tendency for the images to be realized. If you visualize or
image yourself doing whatever it is you desire, you begin to
act, do, think in ways to bring it about.
